چکیده
Leishmaniasis is a group of parasitic zoonotic diseases caused by intracellular protozoans belonging to the genus Leishmania . Little known about effects that this parasitosis may have on reproductive parameters and pregnancy infected humans pets. This study aimed evaluate influence chronic cutaneous leishmaniasis (Leishmania) amazonensis fetal using female murine model. A control BALB/c mice with L. (L.) were mated healthy males. Clinical monitored during pre-mating gestational periods. Female euthanized day 19 gestation, when fetuses weighed their length measured embryonic resorptions death recorded. We observed five deaths three in group. Furthermore, there was decrease fertility (26.32%). The weight offspring from mothers lower than (1.019 ± 0.035 g 1.163 0.032 g, p < 0.01). Fetal reduced (3.71 0.05 cm 3.40 0.06 0.001). shows impairs mice.

Low and high-dose intradermal infection with Leishmania major and Leishmania amazonensis in C57BL/6 mice.
A model of skin infection with Leishmania amazonensis with low doses of parasites is compared to infection with high doses of L. amazonensis and low and high doses of Leishmania major. C57BL/6 mice were infected with 10³ or 10(6) parasites in the ear and the outcome of infection was assessed. The appearance of lesions in mice infected with 10³ parasites was delayed compared to mice infected wit...
متن کاملLeishmania amazonensis infection impairs differentiation and function of human dendritic cells.
Dendritic cells (DCs) are of utmost importance in initiating an immune response and may also function as targets for pathogens. The presence of pathogens inside DCs is likely to impair their functions and thus, influence immune responses. In the present report, we evaluated the impact of the presence of Leishmania amazonensis during differentiation and maturation of human monocyte-derived DCs. ...

HRS/J Hairless mice have been investigated as an experimental model in cutaneous leishmaniasis induced by Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis. The animals were inoculated with 10(6) promastigotes into the right hind footpad and the course of infection was followed up for 30, 60 and 90 days. BALB/c mice were infected and used as control. Hairless mice were susceptible to L. (L.) amazonensis infe...

The Th1 response elicited in mice infected with Leishmania major has been used as a model to characterize cellular immune defects associated with L. amazonensis infection. However, it is not known if the immune response associated with the infection by virulent L. major parasites can promote resistance to a subsequent L. amazonensis infection. Our data demonstrate that C3HeB/FeJ mice infected s...
متن کاملImmucillins Impair Leishmania (L.) infantum chagasi and Leishmania (L.) amazonensis Multiplication In Vitro
Chemotherapy against visceral leishmaniasis is associated with high toxicity and drug resistance. Leishmania parasites are purine auxotrophs that obtain their purines from exogenous sources. Nucleoside hydrolases release purines from nucleosides and are drug targets for anti-leishmanial drugs, absent in mammal cells. We investigated the substrate specificity of the Leishmania (L.) donovani reco...
